Dr. Paul Schiavo
Founder, Medical Director
Regenerative Medicine and Interventional Orthobiologics
Dr. Paul Schiavo is a distinguished figure in the field of regenerative medicine, renowned for his innovative approach to non-surgical treatments for musculoskeletal conditions. As the Founder and Medical Director of OrthoRegen®, Dr. Schiavo has established himself as a key opinion leader internationally, with a commitment to advancing the practice of Interventional Regenerative Orthopaedic Medicine. His extensive training in the use of orthobiologics, such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Mesenchymal Stem Cells, and his successful completion of all courses organized by the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation (IOF) in Colorado, USA, underscore his expertise in this specialized area of medicine.
Dr. Schiavo's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Queensland. Following his graduation, he honed his skills at a number of South East Queensland's Hospitals, including Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, gaining valuable experience in various disciplines, including Emergency Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery. This diverse medical background laid the foundation for his subsequent specialization in General Practice/Family Medicine, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.
In 2013, Dr. Schiavo's professional journey took a significant turn as he delved into the world of Interventional Regenerative Orthopaedic Medicine, a field known for its potential to revolutionize the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. His dedication to this discipline is evident in his development of new treatment protocols and techniques, including a novel musculoskeletal medicine model for diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.
Dr. Schiavo's approach to patient care is both empathetic and holistic, emphasizing the importance of addressing the root cause of dysfunction rather than merely treating symptoms. He is an advocate for moving away from the "band-aid" medical model, seeking instead to provide treatment options that treat the root cause of disease and genuinely improve his patients' quality of life.
Dr Schiavo is a Founding Member and on the Board of Directors of the International Regenerative Medicine Experts Society (IARMES), Dr. Schiavo actively contributes to the global conversation on regenerative medicine. He also holds a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine (AAOM), and Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation (IOF). His contributions to the field are further enriched by his attendance and participation in global conferences and symposiums, where he shares his insights and stays abreast of the latest research and evidence-based treatments.

Dr. Schiavo's expertise extends to the non-surgical management of osteoarthritis, and he is currently engaged in research aimed at developing targeted orthobiologic therapies for the osteoarthritic joint. His innovative spirit is also reflected in his development of new injection techniques under image guidance, which have the potential to significantly improve treatment outcomes for patients.

At OrthoRegen®, Dr. Schiavo's leadership ensures that patients have access to the most advanced and innovative regenerative medicine treatments available. His focus on providing a positive patient experience is complemented by his exceptional attention to detail and proven results. Under his guidance, OrthoRegen® has become a premier destination for regenerative medicine treatments in Australia, offering a suite of advanced, minimally invasive procedures that harness the body's natural ability to heal. His work not only provides relief to those suffering from musculoskeletal conditions but also paves the way for future advancements in the field of regenerative medicine treatments for a range of other medical conditions, such as inflammatory arthritis, autoimmune conditions and chronic pain syndromes.
